History

Bristol and South Gloucestershire People First started in 1990 as a small group of people with learning difficulties at the whole bake cafe.

We wanted:

• to be in control of our lives.
• equal rights,
• proper choices

In 1995 we set up as a charity.

Today we have a Management Committee of 12 people with learning difficulties. We have an office. We employ a staff team. Most of our staff are people with learning difficulties. They earn a real wage. We have volunteers as well.
